About our Police Divisions

The Department of Public Safety operates the following police divisions:

Uniform Patrol

The Uniform Patrol Division is responsible for routine patrol and response to calls for service with the City of North Myrtle Beach. Uniform Patrol is staffed by Public Safety Officers. PSOs also respond to vehicle collisions and fire rescue calls, and provide traffic control services.

Beach Patrol

Beach Patrol Officers train and supervise the city's seasonal lifeguards. Beach Patrol provides police services, responds to medical emergencies and conducts water rescue operations along the city's nine miles of coast.

Criminal Investigations

The Criminal Investigations Division is staffed by Detectives who handle long-term investigations on a wide variety of cases. Detectives perform latent print processing and operate an Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).
