Sergeant Carrie Rose is a seventeen-year veteran of the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety. She is currently the administrative sergeant over the communications and detention center. She has previously served in the capacity of field training officer, criminal investigator, and patrol sergeant. Sergeant Rose was born and raised in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration of Law Enforcement Science in 2001 from the University of New Haven where she interned with the Massachusetts State Police as well as the Connecticut State Police during her studies. Sergeant Rose also received a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in the summer of 2018. Sergeant Rose is married to Ryan Rose who is a Lieutenant in the North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue Division.

The Communication and Detentions facility is located at the Department of Public Safety, 1015 2nd Avenue South in North Myrtle Beach. The 24-hour lobby entrance is located at the front of the building on 2nd Avenue South.

We have 19 total Communication and Detention officers working 24 hours.

We are equipped with a total of 5 male / 5 female single cells, 2 male / 2 female double cells, and 4 male / 2 female drunk tanks.

We also have an Identification Room, 2 Visitation Rooms, Bond Hearing Room, and a kitchen.
