Billy Floyd


Billy Floyd began his Fire Service Career as a Volunteer Firefighter in 1996 with the Nichols VFD in Marion County, South Carolina where he was born and worked as a Career Firefighter for the City of Mullins Fire and Rescue from 2001 until 2005 in which he came to the City of North Myrtle Beach.

Career & Training
He has served as a Firefighter/PSO, Fire Lieutenant, and Training Captain prior to accepting a position as Training Captain with Horry County Fire Rescue in November 2008 and remained there until returning to North Myrtle Beach in January 2013 as the Division Chief of Fire Training. He is also an Adjunct Instructor for the South Carolina Fire Academy and has been teaching for the Academy around the state since 2006. He is also an Instructor for the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, National Fire Academy, and the South Carolina Emergency Management Division.

Education

Division Chief Floyd holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science from Keiser University, a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Public Safety and Emergency Management and a Masters of Science in Leadership with an Emphasis in Disaster Preparedness and Executive Fire Leadership both from Grand Canyon University.
