NMB POLICE DEPARTMENT ASKS FOR YOUR HELP IN BRINGING ITS "JUNIOR K-9 OFFICER" PROGRAM TO LIFEThe North Myrtle Beach Police Department has announced a new program for public and private schools in and around North Myrtle Beach. The department is teaming up with the schools to bring its “Junior K-9 Officer" program to life.
The program provides students with a monthly opportunity to be chosen to join the Junior K-9 Unit. Based on criteria, participating schools nominate one student per month to become Junior K-9 Officers. The Junior K-9 Unit will recognize each inductee with a photograph of the inductee with the K-9 Unit, and some great merchandise. A pinning ceremony allows the newest member of the Junior K-9 Unit to place a patch containing their name on a K-9’s duty vest, to be worn for a month.
The success of this program relies on community support. All materials for the program will be funded through donations by members of the North Myrtle Beach area community. To help make this program a success in our community, a donation page has been set up through the North Myrtle Beach Parks & Recreation web page.
