RESULTS -- JANUARY 3 CITY COUNCIL MEETING
The North Myrtle Beach City Council met at City Hall on Monday, January 3, for a 6:00 pm executive session and a 7:00 pm meeting.
During the executive session, City Council discussed the annual performance evaluation of the City Judge, discussed a potential contract between the City and Beam & Associates, received a legal briefing concerning Horry County Ordinance #86-06 regarding Ride II funds, and received a legal briefing concerning a proposed amendment to the Sandridge Development Agreement.
During the meeting, City Council approved a special event permit for the January 22 Annual Winter Run, a USATF certified and sanctioned event offering 5K and 15K races. The event is sponsored by Coastal Race Productions and co-sponsored by the City of North Myrtle Beach. City Council passed the second (final) reading of an ordinance annexing and zoning 0.36 acres on Cenith Drive.
City Council passed the second reading of an ordinance annexing and zoning 5.12 acres at the terminus of Wyndell Drive.
City Council passed the second reading of an ordinance annexing and zoning 0.75 acres on Old Crane Road from R-1 to R-1A.
City Council passed the second reading of an ordinance annexing and zoning 0.44 acres on Cenith Drive.
City Council postponed the second reading of a proposed ordinance to rezone 9.28 acres near 17th Avenue South from R-4 to RC. City Council will meet in a Wednesday, January 12, 1:30 pm workshop to discuss potential alternatives to rezoning the property, such as an overlay district or a planned development district.
City Council passed the first reading of an ordinance to annex and zone 0.70 acres on Little River Neck Road.
City Council held the second public hearing regarding a proposed second amendment to the Master Development Agreement regarding the Sandridge Tract.
City Council postponed the first reading of an ordinance regarding a proposed second amendment to the Master Development Agreement regarding the Sandridge Tract in order to allow City staff time to meet with the developer to discuss some aspects of the requested second amendment.
City Council passed the first reading of an ordinance to annex and zone 0.60 acres on Old Crane Road.
City Council passed the first reading of an ordinance to amend the Bahama Island Planned Development District (PDD) by adding eight campsites to the NMB RV Resort.
City Council held the second public hearing pertaining to a proposed amendment to the Bahama Island PDD Development Agreement regarding the NMB RV Resort
City Council passed the first reading of an ordinance to amend the Bahama Island Planned Development District (PDD) Development Agreement regarding the NMB RV Resort and to authorize the City Manager to sign the document on behalf of the City. Prior to passing the first reading of the ordinance, City Council amended the proposed fee of $400 per park model site having a sewer connection to $1,300 per park model. The adjusted fee is comprised of a beach access fee of $1,100 and a park enhancement fee of $200. These fees are in keeping with other recent development agreement requirements.
