JANUARY 12 COUNCIL WORKSHOP PRESENTATION AVAILABLE ONLINE
Of all of the proposed alternatives to rezoning, Council appeared to be most comfortable with creating an overlay for the existing R-4 zone as it applies to a limited number of lots. Council members also appeared to favor reducing the footprint for an overlay to include only the southern part of the original area that was proposed for rezoning.
Next Steps: City staff will draft a proposed overlay ordinance. When completed, the ordinance will be brought before the City's Planning Commission for review and recommendation. City Council will then consider the proposed ordinance. All meetings will be publicized and the public will have opportunities to speak on the proposed ordinance when it comes before the Planning Commission and City Council.
