RESULTS – February 7 CITY COUNCIL MEETING
The North Myrtle Beach City Council met at City Hall on Monday, February 7, 2022 for a 6:00 pm Executive Session and a 7:00 pm meeting.
DURING THE EXECUTIVE SESSION, City Council received a legal briefing regarding the Sandridge Development Agreement, discussed the potential sale of City property in the vicinity of 6th Avenue South and the corner of Gayle Street, discussed an appointment to the Planning Commission, received a legal briefing regarding the City of North Myrtle Beach vs. Beach Homes of North Myrtle Beach, LLC et al, 2019 CP-26-06963, and received a legal briefing regarding an easement with a pumpstation on Westport Drive.
DURING THE MEETING:
-- City Council passed a resolution to reappoint Dean Mureddu as the North Myrtle Beach Municipal Judge for a four (4) year term.
-- City Council appointed Jeff Martini to the Accommodations Tax Commission.
-- City Council reappointed Marty Slapnik and Charles Berg to the Accommodations Tax Commission.
-- City Council approved a revision to the City Council meeting schedule
-- City Council approved the Ocean Drive Beach Music Festival
-- City Council approved the SOS Parade
-- City Council approved the Fun in the Sun event
-- City Council passed the second reading of an ordinance to annex and zone 0.70 acres on Little River Neck Road.
-- City Council passed the second reading of an ordinance to annex and zone 0.60 acres on Old Crane Road.
-- City Council passed the second reading of an ordinance to amend the Bahama Island Planned Development District (PDD) by adding eight campsites to the NMB RV Resort.
-- City Council passed the first reading of an ordinance to amend Chapter 21, Article II, Sections 21-40 and 21-41 removing references to decals, except where they apply to golfcarts.
-- City Council passed the second reading of an ordinance to amend the Bahama Island Planned Development District (PDD) Development Agreement regarding the NMB RV Resort and to authorize the City Manager to sign the document on behalf of the City.
-- City Council postponed the first reading of an ordinance regarding a proposed second amendment to the Master Development Agreement regarding the Sandridge Tract at the request of the developer’s attorney.
-- City Council postponed the first reading of a proposed ordinance to rezone 8.9 acres off Westport Drive from HC and R-3 to R-2A in order to allow City staff time to meet with the developer and engineers to discuss a possible infrastructure concern.
-- City Council passed the first reading of an ordinance to annex and zone 1.58 acres on Champions Boulevard.
-- City Council passed the first reading of an ordinance regarding state-wide business license standardization.
-- City Council passed the first reading of an ordinance to convey an approximately 0.21 acre parcel of land located adjacent to 6th Avenue South to property owners abutting the parcel to be conveyed
