NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The North Myrtle Beach City Council met in a regularly scheduled meeting on June 19, 2023, at 7 p.m.
Prior to the regularly scheduled meeting, council members held an executive session for a legal briefing regarding Chapter 19, Section 22, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of North Myrtle Beach, regarding permits required for construction of driveways. No votes were taken.
The items below were approved on the consent agenda:
- MOTION TO APPOINT: Appoint Mayor Pro Tempore Jay Baldwin to the RIDE IV Committee (PASSED)
- MOTION TO APPROVE: 4th of July Celebration (PASSED)
- MOTION TO APPROVE: Myrtle Beach Tours Beach Games (PASSED)
There were three items on the unfinished business portion of the agenda.
- ORDINANCE/SECOND READING: Amendment to Chapter 9, Section 9-0, of the Code of Ordinances for North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina regarding redistricting plan and related ward lines (PASSED)
- ORDINANCE/SECOND READING: Amendment to Chapter 9, Section 9-1, of the Code of Ordinances for North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina regarding a redistricting plan to redraw the four single member wards (PASSED)
- ORDINANCE/SECOND READING: Amendment to Chapter 21, Traffic, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of North Myrtle Beach adopting Sections 21-16 to 21-19 regarding the regulation of shared mobility devices (PASSED)
A public hearing and three new business items were also addressed:
- PUBLIC HEARING: On the FY 2024 proposed budget
- ORDINANCE/FIRST READING: An ordinance setting the tax levy for FY 2024 (PASSED)
- ORDINANCE/FIRST READING: An ordinance to adopt the budget for FY 2024 (PASSED)
